The BBC radio station has had a schedule shake-up, with Lauren Laverne moving to mid-mornings while her cover presenter is made permanent.

Lauren Laverne has announced she'll step back from BBC Radio 6 Music Breakfast Show and host a new programme. Last August, Laverne shared she had been diagnosed with cancer but was "expected to make a full recovery" as doctors had "caught it early". After being given the "all clear", the DJ and host will return to radio, albeit on a different show.

Lauren Laverne steps down from 6 Music breakfast show
Lauren Laverne has announced she will step down from BBC 6 Music's breakfast show, after taking time away for cancer treatment. The presenter, who also hosts Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, will hand over the programme to Nick Grimshaw, who has been keeping her seat warm since August.
