Six of the victims on the American Airlines flight that collided with an Army helicopter and crashed into the frigid waters of the Potomac River have been identified as members of the Skating Club

A Boston-area skating club reportedly lost two skaters, their mothers, and two coaches in the mid-air plane collision in Washington, D.C.

The Skating Club of Boston lost two coaches, two young skaters and their two mothers in the deadly crash of American Airlines Flight 5342 in Washington, D.C.

The American Airlines mid-air collision that claimed 67 lives, included six people with ties to The Skating Club of Boston in Norwood, which is the epicenter of the sport in the area.

They were returning home from a camp for young figure skaters identified as having promise.

Vadim Naumov, a coach at the Skating Club of Boston, was among the victims of a plane crash near Ronald Reagan National Airport outside of Washington, D.C. Wednesday night. Naumov was traveling with his wife, Evgenia Shishkova, as well as two athletes from the club and their mothers.

Pittsburgh's figure skating community has been hit hard by the midair DC plane crash which killed a number of up-and-coming ice skaters from across the country. That includes Sara Sebring, a 16-year-old figure skater who trains at the ice rink at the Robert Morris University Island Sports Center.
