The flash flood warning was in effect for northwestern Hillsborough County and southeastern Pinellas County until 7:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Areas affected included Tampa, Clearwater, East Lake, Palm Harbor, Keystone, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, and Westchase, officials said.

On Friday at 5:57 a.m. an updated flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 10 a.m. The warning is for Cabarrus, Mecklenburg and Union counties.

The Flash Flood Warning is in place for Sussex, Surry, Isle of Wight, and Southampton counties until 12:15 p.m.
