Florida voters Tuesday rejected an amendment to the State Constitution that would have allowed adults 21 and older to use and possess marijuana for non-medical purposes, according to NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ.

An anti-marijuana legalization policy group celebrated the defeat of Florida's Amendment 3 which would have legalized recreational marijuana use in the state.

Following the most expensive ballot measure battle in the nation, Decision Desk HQ has called the race with Amendment 3 several percentage points short of the approval threshold with the vast majority of votes counted. Gov. Ron DeSantis also declared the amendment dead.
