Monaco has celebrated National Day since 1734. While the actual date of celebration has rotated through the years, in correlation with the day of the reigning Sovereign Prince's patron saint, Prince Albert chose to honor it on Nov. 19 like his late father, Prince Rainier, did as the sovereign of Monaco.

Monaco's National Day was celebrated on Tuesday in the presence of Prince Albert II and his wife Princess Charlene.

The royal shares her son and daughter, who are both 9, with her husband Prince Albert. Charlene admitted to the magazine that it's "difficult to find time to spend one-on-one time" with her twins, but noted that it's "essential when you are the parents of twins."
