JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – A wanted fugitive is dead and a SWAT team member is injured after a police standoff situation in Jackson Township on Monday. The FOX 8 I-Team first confirmed that US Marshals were tracking a fugitive, which led to an incident that closed down Interstate 77.

Officers on Monday killed a fugitive who fired at officers during a standoff at a hotel near Canton. U.S. marshals said the suspect, whose identity has not been released, was wanted out of the Southern District of West Virginia on a federal warrant that charged him with possessing weapons with a felony record.
