Charlotte has fired coach Biff Poggi and has lined up tight ends coach/associate head coach Tim Brewster to be the interim coach, sources said.

Biff Poggi's time in Charlotte has come to an end. Charlotte fired football coach Poggi on Monday afternoon after less than two seasons with the program, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.  Tim Brewster will take over as the team's interim coach for the rest of the season.

Following a fourth 30-point loss this season — on the program’s homecoming Saturday — Charlotte cut ties with Poggi. The former Michigan assistant posted a 6-16 record with the 49ers. Here’s what we know.
