Conor McDavid and Vasily Podkolzin scored third-period goals to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild Wednesday night at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. The Wild (27-14-4) and Oilers (28-13-3) were tied 3-3 entering the third period before Podkolzin and McDavid's goals pushed them over the top.

With Eriksson Ek set to line up against McDavid and/or Draisaitl all night, and the Oilers allowing just 2.48 goals per game with a league-best 88.1 penalty-kill percentage through their past 29 games, this is a nightmare matchup for the Minny center.

The Edmonton Oilers picked up a 4-3 comeback win last night over the Colorado Avalanche. The Oilers went down 3-0 in the first period before adding four unanswered goals to pick up their fourth straight win and their eighth win in their last nine games.

The Wild got early goals from Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi, and a second period goal from Ryan Hartman, but could not hold their leads, despite testing Oilers goalie Calvin Pickard repeatedly.

The Wild held two separate leads before falling to Connor McDavid and the Oilers, losing Marcus Johansson along the way.

Vasily Podkolzin has been a great addition to the Oilers. Stan Bowman moved a fourth-round pick for the Russian forward, but it could be the Oilers best trade before the end of the season.
