A rare red weather warning was issued for areas of central, southern and western Scotland from 10:00-17:00. Wind gusts of 95mph have been recorded on the Forth Road Bridge, near Edinburgh Airport, while a peak of nearly 101mph was reported in Lanarkshire.

Two planes have been damaged during Storm Eowyn at Teesside International Airport. Pictures of the aircraft show extensive damage from the extreme winds which have battered the region today. The planes were secured and they were not in use when they sustained damage.
