Deportation flights between the U.S. and Colombia have resumed following a dispute between the two countries that nearly led to a trade war.

U.S. President Donald Trump had threatened tariffs and sanctions to punish Colombia for refusing to accept military flights carrying deportees, part of his sweeping immigration crackdown. But in a statement late on Sunday,

The Trump administration responded by threatening to slap punitive tariffs on Colombian exports to the US. President Petro at first said Colombia would retaliate by imposing tariffs on US goods, but the White House later announced that Colombia had agreed to accept migrants - including those arriving on US military aircraft - "without limitation or delay".
