Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon have killed at least seven high-ranking Hezbollah commanders and officials in recent weeks, including leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was assassinated in a strike on his underground headquarters in Beirut on Friday.

Israel has killed several top Hezbollah commanders in a series of targeted strikes on the Iran-backed movement's stronghold in Beirut.

Hezbollah senior commanders were the target of the strikes, according to a senior Israeli official, who said it was too early to confirm if the group's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, had been killed.
