An Israeli drone strike hit a neighbourhood in central Beirut on Monday, a Lebanese security source said, the second day in a row that a target within the Lebanese capital has been struck as Israel presses its campaign against the Iran-backed Hezbollah.

An Israeli air strike hit a densely-populated neighborhood in the heart of Beirut Sunday evening, killing one person and wounding nine others, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

The strikes, the first in weeks inside Lebanon’s capital, forced residents to come to grips with another escalation of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
