A new wildfire was reported today at 2:54 p.m. in Los Angeles County. Sage Fire has been burning on private land. At this time, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

Seven regions within Los Angeles County are under a heat advisory as meteorologists expect high temperatures to return to Southern California.

The calendar may have just flipped to October but it still feels like summertime in Southern California. The City of Los Angeles announced Tuesday that it is preparing for a heat wave to grip the region through at least Wednesday by opening its cooling centers at designated Recreation and Parks facilities from 10 a.

Mother Nature is expected to turn up the heat in parts of Southern California on Tuesday, with "dangerously hot temperatures" possible in some areas.

Prompted by an excessive heat warning, the city of Los Angeles will open and operate cooling centers through Wednesday evening, Mayor Karen Bass’ office announced.
