NEWARK, N.J. – When Travis Konecny had an “A” for alternate captain sewn on his jersey last season, it was for good reason. But years before this, his teammates probably would have opted for an “L” because he had already evolved into a leader. The Flyers veteran right wing has elevated his game to a new, higher level this season.
Konecny is the Flyers’ most dangerous and consistent offensive player and his intense disposition and passion have been impossible to miss.
Konecny has been on a steady rise. He has led the Flyers in scoring each of the last three seasons and four of the past five. An All-Star last February, he finished the 2023-24 season with a career high in goals (33) and points (68), and he’s on pace to shatter his best numbers with 35 goals, 59 assists and 94 points this year.
He’s the scrappy, fearless winger whose combination of grit and skill has endeared him to fans in orange and black. But despite being the Flyers' undisputed star, Konecny has long toiled in the shadows of broader NHL stardom.
