Xavi Simons' transfer to RB Leipzig could have consequences for Arsenal and Chelsea as they chase Benjamin Sesko

A move in the summer is much more likely, although Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has admitted that the club are searching for a new striker right now after injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

West Ham have already seen a £57m bid rejected while the likes of Chelsea and Al-Nassr have also been heavily linked. It seems Arsenal may have stolen a march on their rivals, though, with Fabrizio Romano claiming they have already made contact over a potential move.

Chelsea are in talks to sign RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko, who is Arsenal's primary transfer target for 2025.

Mikel Arteta has made it clear he wants to bring in some new faces before the transfer deadline on February 3, with RB Leipzig star Sesko reportedly their top target. But cheaper moves for strikers such as Evan Ferguson or Matheus Cunha cannot be ruled out.

Arsenal could be given a massive opportunity to sign a striker before the January window closes after being told one of their top targets is available for transfer this month.
