Kenny Omega references the backstage brawl with CM Punk when commenting on his altercation with Gabe Kidd. Omega appeared at NJPW Power Struggle and expressed his interest in competing at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.

After a backstage fight angle at New Japan’s Power Struggle show, Omega said it reminded him of ‘the incident that happened in AEW’ and that Kidd ‘was unfit to be a professional, just like that guy’.

Omega said he's getting better and "in a little bit" he should be able to wrestle again. He said that he's still a member of the AEW roster, but if he returns, he would like to be back in New Japan. Omega wasn't sure when he would be able to be back, but asked, "How about January 5th?"
