Jan 1, 2024 · Best new whisky in 2023. As often Gordon & MacPhail was responsible for three highlights with 93 points, although one Talisker managed to stand out above. It took the crown with 94 points – it is the best whisky I’ve tried this year: Talisker 45 Year Old ‘Glacial Edge’. Glen Grant 1959 ‘Mr George Legacy’.

23 hours ago · Caol Ila 11 yo ‘Ambrosial Feast’ (57,3%, OB Special Releases 2024, unpeated, refill + rejuvenated ex-wine casks) Nose: fairly shy. It’s malty, with hints of walnuts, peanuts and wood dust. The wine didn’t leave a big mark. Butter cookies with light vanilla, along with pepper and dried grassy notes.
